Armeniacus found his origion inArmenia Oval, horizontally spread flowers (April) growing in dusters of 10 cm long, dark violet blue in colour with a white edge. Muscari armeniacum is larger than the Muscari botryoides. 6-8 bluish-green, linear-canaliculated leaves in a rosette, much longer than the inflorescence. Oval, whitish bulbs. Size 8-9. The most frequently cultivated variety. 10-20 cm tall. They eventually tend to look rather 'messy', the long leaves trailing over the ground later on Planting time: September until December as long there is frost in the ground. Flowering time: April until May. Plant the bulbs in groups with a distance of 10 cm and 6-8cm deep Prefers a a sunny or half shadowed place in the garden in lose ground. The muscare is suitable for rock gardens, borders and lawns, as running wild in wood gardens and as little cut flowers. With daffodils the muscari will make a good combination. Save this bulbs on a warm and dry place until you plant them. |
